How can I download and read eBooks on my mobile device or desktop computer?
Answer
CCBC Library electronic resources are available on-site and remotely to active students and employees, as well as friends and guests on-site only.
All electronic resources, including ebooks, are available to view on the Library's website. The library's website can be viewed on mobile devices, either through the URL or through the CCBC app. Select the "Library" widget on the app's main page. You will be able to view all ebooks and electronic databases.
The methods for downloading eBooks onto a desktop computer vary depending on which platform supplies the eBook.
Some ebooks will have a left had side side panel with options for both a "Full Download" and "PDF Full Text." To download only a chapter of an eBook, go to "PDF Full Text," select the chapter you wish to download, and press the "download" arrow button to the right of the chapter title.
Other ebooks will have a "Full Text Finder" button on the left hand side. (For example: eBooks published by Credo Reference are viewed in this manner.) If you click on this, you will find a table of contents for the eBook. When you have selected a chapter, you will see an option for "Save" under the title for the page. From there you can either, Print, Download, or Save To Drive. Choose your preferred option. You will then be prompted to select a citation format. Once you have done this, hit "download."
